Fellowships and Prizes
The IEEE History Program supports the training of the next generation of historians of electrotechnology. The IEEE Life Members’ Fellowship in Electrical History supports either one year of full-time graduate work in the history of electrical science and technology at a college or university of recognized standing or up to one year of post-doctoral research. The Pugh Young Scholar in Residence provides graduate students in the history of electrical and computer technologies gain research experience working alongside the staff of the IEEE History Center. It is intended for future historians and is not suitable for engineering students unless there is a strong history component to their studies. George Borg was the 2025 Pugh Visiting Scholar. Michelle Spektor is the 2025-2026 IEEE Life Members’ Fellow in Electrical History.
